It’s time to get it together: 2018 marketing trends you can’t ignore.
Ok, January has passed. Spring is on the horizon. It’s time to buckle down and really evaluate your marketing plan for the year. If you’ve been doing the same tactics and your business doesn’t seem to be growing, it’s time to make sure you’re up to date with your marketing trends. Don’t let your business conjure up 2013; it’s just not a good look.
Video: it’s easy to feel intimidated by video. You see your competitors starting to grow their video platform, and the slow dread begins to build…editing seems like a lot of work and who knows how to cut clips, anyway? You certainly don’t want a business video looking like a high school final project, but there are many tools out there to avoid that embarrassment. Start out with a simple Instagram video and see how it goes. There are many simple apps you can download to help with the editing (we like Splice — for more extensive editing try out DaVinci Resolve — that’s what we primarily use) side of things. For your online presence to grow, you’re going to have to embrace video, plain and simple.
Inbound, organic marketing strategies: we’ve spoken about this point at length, but the main point is: the days of winning over cold calls is over. Free, quality content is the new normal and anything less won’t help you. By pushing out helpful information, you’ll build your following. Once a potential client decides to reach out to you, they will be ready to sign. This will eliminate the long, stressful closing period.
Authenticity: the trend towards authenticity is something our firm loves. Companies are starting to stand by their ideals and speak out about them. No longer can businesses totally avoid controversial subject, like politics. Buyers are more informed and more inclined to appreciate transparency and value-oriented companies. We certainly do our research before supporting companies to make sure our values are in alignment; and this trend is growing across demographics.
3D Graphic Design: design trends certainly come and go each year. 2018 will surely be the same. 3D graphic design is now on the rise; we’re seeing more 3D logo designs. Utilizing this style in various titles or Instagram posts is a way to be on trend without allowing your brand to be overly influenced by a trend that will likely change.
If you can master these trends, your marketing strategy will be more compelling this year. If you don’t want to do this yourself, Soul Graphics can help.
