Introducing… Rove 🚀
Here at Spire Labs, we obsess over building the best. We are constantly studying top innovators, analyzing emerging tech, and iterating on our own ideas. We hold others to a high standard, and ourselves to an even higher one. In a chaotic, fast-moving world, we want to provide experiences that delight, that comfort, and that encourage. Because of all this, there are few things we enjoy more than bringing new products into the world, and putting them into the hands of people we care about. Today, we get to do exactly that.
As some of you know, last year we launched a beta product called Spire FIT. It was an off-shoot of our flagship product, Spire, and took what we’d learned about creating massive step competitions for some incredible companies and their employees, and brought that experience to the masses: Spire FIT provided simple step leaderboards and competitions, for anyone and everyone. You can read about that, here.
With lots of other things going on, we launched Spire FIT and just let it run for a few months. When we came back to it, what we found was astonishing: There were hundreds of people using FIT every day, and tens of thousands of sessions being generated, every month.
So, we took a hard look at how people have been using it, and decided to build out a full product, around that core idea. And now, we’re excited to introduce you to that new product, which we’ve rebuilt, from the ground up: Say hello to Rove 👋
Rove picks up where FIT left off, and will still provide people with the simplest way to share their steps with the people that matter most, whether that’s family, friends, co-workers, or just some random collection of people who want to keep track of their fitness, together.
Now, though, we’re adding some of the most-requested features: A Personal Tab, Multi-League Support, Easier sharing, Milestones, and Pro Memberships.
Personal Feed — With FIT, we guided people to participate in a League, right away. We realize that a lot of people want to try things on their own, first, so you can now create your Rove profile (through your Google or Facebook sign-in, if you want), and track your steps, in your own, personal environment.
Multi-League Support — One thing that we’ve heard from a lot of our users is that they don’t just have one group of people they want to share steps with… they want to have a family league AND a soccer team league, a roommates league AND a company league, a neighborhood league AND a school league. Now you have the opportunity to switch between your Leagues, with the tap of a button… and your steps will continue to be added to each.
Easier Sharing — FIT allowed you to invite others by email, but a lot of us don’t know email addresses, even for the people we’re closest to. And adding people one at a time is a pain. So Rove allows you to create a link for your league, which you can send out to a group text thread, post on your website, or share, however you want.
Milestones — This experience is all about competition, and why have a series of races, if you can’t tell who has been winning? Milestones will allow you to gain insight into your own progress, and see who’s really leading your League. See things like who has the Best Daily Average, Win-Loss Records, and Who’s had the Best Day, Week & Month.
Pro Memberships — We want Rove to serve everyone, but for those who are really dedicated, and want some extra functionality, we’re offering Pro Memberships. A Pro Membership gives you the ability to join additional Leagues, and will eventually provide you with deeper insights. As time goes on, we’ll continue to add perks for Pros, so get excited! You’ll also get an icon on your profile, so that everyone in your Leagues will know that your support has helped keep Rove an entirely ad-free experience, for everyone.
So, there you have it. We’re really proud of this product, and can’t wait for you to use it.
