Konton Knights have done a good job maintaining their rank, especially now that they are the premier Spanish Splatoon 2 team. This vast roster stands on the high end of mid-tier teams who are steadily improving with every event they enter.

In higher tier events, this squad have only been stopped by teams who are known to be stronger than they are. Thus the next step on their path is to figure the matchups to these teams. From there, they’ll be able to give these teams a better fight.

Creme Fresh have found themselves in a rather lackluster Season 2 compared to their previous outings. What once was a team that was frequently in the Top 8 have found themselves struggling to maintain Top 8 finishes. This in part is due many other teams suddenly just playing better in particular matchups.

It’s not the end for the team, far from it, but like many other teams in their position they will have to work out what’s causing their once-favored matchups to turn the other direction.

orKs Black is still a team to be feared in the French scene, but their outings outside of their home region have been less than favorable. This is also a team that has been rather inactive in the last month, resulting in a drop of their rankings.

However, many will remember how dominant this squad was in the past. And while they are far past their previous glory days, there is still room for this squad to grow and return to the limelight.

Deep Blues is another team that has been having trouble with the rise of mid-tier teams in recent months. Couple this with many losing matchups they already hold against top tier teams, it can be easy to see how this squad has seen tough competition.

That being said, this is a team that you can count on Deep Blues to be inventive and unpredictable. They are quick to adapt new ideas and find creative ways to implement them (see their recent usage of Dapples in tournament matches). Their finishes in the weekly events are as well as any other, but they will have to gear up soon as the tide of newer teams continues to crash down upon them.

The B team of the Extralamars clan is looking to be on the rise in recent days. Their presence in the French scene has given them much experience with many Top 8 finishes in the larger events.

Unlike their sister team though, this squad still needs a bit more experience with matchups outside of France, which seems to be a trend with many of the teams from the region. However, at the pace that they are improving, it won’t be long before they may find themselves facing off against El Firmament in a Grand Final of a tier 1 event.
