El Firmament has come a long way in their Splatoon careers. And finally, they have smashed their way into the top. With a dominating record over the French region and even stronger matchups against other fellow western teams, even taking a few sets against established teams of the scene.

What makes this team, and the French region teams in general, is their consistency. Not only have many of these top teams stuck around together for so long, but the have continued to stretch their limits, taking in as many matches as possible each week. And through that hard work ethic, El Firmament has succeeded beyond what others would dream of.

Team Olive has always been and will continue to be the most popular team in the Splatoon scene. However, they have begun to struggle in this season as the rest of the scene has continued to improve. However, no matter their position, they have maintained the same high standards of play that fans have come to know them for.

Team Olive ends their second season strong as they started it: strong and dominant. With their victories in InkCage II and SCL 50, they have continued to prove their strength and power in the global scene. One final goal they have left is to crack into the Japanese scene, and from there become icons of the Splatoon scene.

TOMO is the surprise of the season. This is a squad who has always been dominant in the Splatoon scene, going back to the first game. And while they started Splatoon 2’s competitive scene slowly, they have rapidly caught up with the rest and made a strong name for themselves in the North American scene. More recently they have finally overcome their toughest rival in Saikai at InkCage II.

TOMO’s streak in recent months is testament to how often and how hard they play. No matter what event they attend, always expect them to bring the best, whether it’s Kyo landing amazing directs or Toon and Hachi constantly locking down the enemy. After having conquered the North American scene, they now look to impress on the worldwide stage even further.

Kraken Paradise prove the rule that having strong matchups against every other team in the scene means that you’re the best. And Kraken Paradise have done that in whole, with only 3 losing matchups in the entirety of their Season 2 run. Their unique usage of the mid-long range weapon comp has allowed them to outplay their opponents at every opportunity. And with the addition of Kaugo as their premier Blaster player, Kraken Paradise are practically kings and queens of the Western scene.

In Season 1, this team didn’t show up on the radar as much, so their presence in Season 2 is much assuring. In the upcoming season, Kraken Paradise are now ready to continue taking names left and right.

There’s something miraculous about Saikai’s position in Season 2. When the season started, the team was suffering some real matchup issues in the top tier events. But, the Goldilocks situation ocurred at the right time when SqSS February rolled around. There, a German-based pickup squad was beating all of the top teams, Kraken Paradise included. But at Grand Finals, Saikai would swoop in and take the victory, reclaiming their SqSS trophy at the same time.

However, a closer look at Saikai in Season 2 reveals more than a final tournament victory. Like Kraken Paradise, Saikai has been absolutely dominant with, again, only three losing matchups. No matter what lineup that Saikai runs, they are guaranteed to take the victory in nearly every match they participate in. These talented squids have rightly earned a second feature as the top team in Season 2.
