NFL WEEK 1 IS FINALLY IN THE BOOKS, which means it’s time to overreact to everything. It’s a tradition unlike any other. We wait eight months for real football games and finally get one measly data point for each team and overthink everything. It’s a 16-game season, so one game is only 6.25% of the way, but right now it’s 100%.

Will Russell Wilson battle Aaron Rodgers for MVP? Will Washington win the NFC East? Are the Jaguars good and the Colts bad? (No, no, no, and no, for the record.) Week 2 is about sticking to what we definitely know and not overreacting to that slew of new data we waited so long for, while still making necessary adjustments from the things that do seem real.

It was a weird Opening Day. My Sunday picks went 11–2, which should have been a raging success, but those two Ls were outright losses by best bets I’ve put great stock into this season, Indianapolis and Dallas. We finished 13–3, tied for my best week ever, so I guess beggars can’t be choosers?

Let’s run through the Week 2 Power Rankings and pick some winners…
