Innovation Works is proud to announce our newest members of the AlphaLab and AlphaLab Gear accelerator programs. This is the first iteration of our new rolling cohort model, which allows us more flexibility to provide each company with specialized resources to fit their individual stage of development.

The following companies are experiencing the extensive support from our nationally ranked programs to develop their strategy to rapidly progress to the next level. Resources provided include financial investment, a network of experienced mentors, product development strategies, digital marketing techniques, customer acquisition approaches and the Scalable network of manufacturers.

AdSkate

AdSkate transforms digital advertising by applying artificial intelligence (AI) to determine the relevance of content for a brand or campaign, eliminating unrelated or damaging ad delivery. Due to privacy regulations, tracking consumers online is becoming increasingly difficult. Brands have less context for ad placement strategies resulting in irrelevant ads and wasted budget. Serving relevant ads while protecting the individual’s privacy, AdSkate enhances the advertising model and builds user engagement — all while prioritizing transparency and trust.

Follow AdSkate on LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter.

Our take: AdSkate’s team brings together experience in digital advertising, artificial intelligence and business development to create the next generation of ad technology. The company has already run a number of successful campaigns with their first set of paid customers. We’re excited to watch AdSkate become a leader in cookieless advertising.

CorePower Magnetics

Today’s magnets are large, heavy and inefficient. With the grid shifting to more complex, distributed generation and more electric vehicles on land, air and sea, power electronics components are being pushed towards smaller and lighter configurations. CorePower Magnetics’ customer driven and collaborative design approach in combination with patented advanced manufacturing processes and novel materials allows them to manufacture dramatically smaller and lighter power electronic components, while optimizing performance.

Follow CorePower Magnetics on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Our take: CorePower Magnetics combines university-originated IP and a team of industry veterans to advance the utilization and efficiency of electrification of transportation and the electric grid. Their technology is a key component in the push to a more sustainable future.

Make It Home Safe

Make it Home Safe provides safety and security through real-time motorist identification. The application improves safety by increasing transparency between police officers and citizens at traffic stops — all before the officer approaches the vehicle.

Insight into the driver and vehicle registration eliminates misidentification, providing police officers’ a better understanding of the specific situation. Drivers experience a notification of why they have been stopped while alerting a loved one that they have been pulled over with their location. Increasing safety for both sides, Make It Home Safe is designed to break barriers and connect communities together as a whole.

Our take: We met the founder when he was at the idea stage and have been impressed by the progress, especially taking constructive feedback and turning it into action. We believe the founding team had a deep understanding of the needs of both sides of this market. We also believe the timing for a solution like this is now.

Mamalux:

Luxwear is tackling a huge unmet need in the postpartum maternity space with Mamalux, the first breastfeeding-friendly nightgown specifically developed and designed to address the problem of milk leakage at night while also prioritizing comfort. With three million births in the U.S. alone each year, Mamalux leakproof postpartum sleepwear is Luxwear’s first product entry in the $25B breastfeeding, maternity care and apparel markets.

Follow Mamalux on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Our take: Luxwear’s founder, Lindsay Stuart, impressed us with her entrepreneurial grit. She experienced a problem personally, recognized that many other people experienced the same program, found that there were no adequate solutions, and went about solving the problem herself. She has made an incredible amount of progress on her own, and her past experience as the first marketing hire in a tech-enabled consumer product company positions her well to success with her first product.
