You’re not waking up early enough

Randler’s research revealed that “morning people” are more likely to anticipate problems and minimize them efficiently, which leads to more success personally and professionally. Harvard biologist Christoph Randler discovered in 2008 that early risers are more proactive. They were more likely to agree with statements like “I spend time identifying long-range goals for myself” and “I feel in charge of making things happen.”

You’re not building powerful partnerships

The people you surround yourself with are going to be influences in your life in one way or another. Building powerful partnerships is about engaging with people who are doing better than you. They will keep you inspired, motivated and accountable. Surround yourself with those who are passionate and can serve as an example of where you would like to be. You will surely have something to offer to them as they will for you.

"If you do not seek out allies and helpers, then you will be isolated and weak." - Sun Tzu, "The Art of War"

You’re not choosing to see past the excuses

We’re given a brain that allows us to imagine great ideas and push ourselves to take powerful actions towards amazing results. On the other hand that capability also allows us to do just the opposite, find excuses not to. Excuses push us back into our comfort zone and prevent us for seeing what can be. Don’t get comfortable. Choose to seek the possibilities not the excuses.

For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them. — Aristotle

You’re waiting for the right time

Think of what you do exceptionally well. It could be cooking, running, speed reading, building a house, etc. Whatever it may be, you probably didn’t achieve greatness overnight. It took time. It took patience. Most importantly you didn’t wait for the right time; you did it because you loved it. If there’s something that you want to improve upon or pursue as a passion, the right time is right now.

Lost time can never be found again.

You’re afraid of failing

There are countless stories of successful individuals who failed many times before seeing any signs of success. I’m not saying you should never be afraid, but it should not prevent you from trying. If you try, you have a 50% chance of success, and if you don’t you have a 100% chance of failure.

Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently. — Henry Ford
