Another week, another new page! This time, we’re continuing to build out your comprehensive suite of hero stats with the addition of the Hero Talents page! Let’s have a look…

Pick Rate != Win Rate

When it comes to talent selection, it can be easy to think that choices aren’t critical. Glancing at the data however, a different reality quickly takes shape. Looking above at Puck’s new Talent Page, we see that overall, 26.5% more players pick “+50 Illusory Orb Damage” at level 10 than the “+0.75s Waning Rift Silence Duration” option, but in fact this less popular option enjoys a +5.2% boost in win rate! You can find tons of examples of this incongruent relationship across heroes, ranks, and positions.

Not one of Puck’s most popular talents has been the most successful this week!

While just knowing the pick rate vs win rate of a talent doesn’t establish a causal relationship between selection and outcome, it does provide a window into some potentially missed opportunities for players. To help learn from data that’s most relevant for you, we provide both rank and position filters for all data on your page. These can be particularly helpful to find data for less common positions, like a support Puck.

To give more context to your new Talent stats, we also show the average time that each one was picked, along with the overall percentage of matches that they were picked in. The percentage of “matches picked in” tells you how often a given talent was selected in matches, which is different from its pick rate, which specifically refers to how often a talent was selected when the hero reached the level required to pick that talent. Because of this, the pick rates of the two talents within any tier always add up to 100%, while the “matches picked in” values add up to less than 100%.

All Hero Talent stats use data from all qualified ranked matches played in the past week.

Underneath each set of talent branches, you’ll find the percentage of matches that both talents were unlocked, as well as the average time that your hero managed to earn both talents.

What do you Attribute your win to?

For most heroes, leveling up involves selecting either a skill to upgrade or a talent to unlock. However, for any level, players can choose to add points to their attributes instead (up to 7 times). While this isn’t commonly a meta play for most heroes, we’ve includes stats to track attribute patterns for each hero at the bottom of your Talents pages.

For each of the 7 attribute upgrade levels, we show the average time the attribute was unlocked, and the percentage of matches where the attribute unlock took place. We also show the average levels where attributes were pointed into, which can reveal if any heroes’ build patterns favor attribute upgrades over the alternatives.

We hope you enjoy this new perspective on your Hero Talents — let us know if anything is missing on Discord!
