The Well of Broca
Barriosa is a village located in Vide parish, in the Portuguese municipality of Seia. Bathed by the river Alvôco and near Estrela Mountains, a paradisiacal place with alluring waterfalls, ponds and the magnificent river beach of Barriosa: the iconic Well Of Broca. There you will find a Snack Bar and a Restaurant, perfect in case you forget to prepare a picnic.
Looks hidden, and very few roads will take you there, making the surrounding villages being hard to reach. Therefore, highly preserved and beautifully picturesque. It looks gorgeous during Winter too.
This place makes me think of “Serendipity”, the word meaning the fact of finding interesting or valuable things by chance. And that, is what happens when you travel carefree, just delighted with everything that surrounds you, and here, surrounded all the time by green forests is quite easy.
