We are digital ducks that say SUP!
In a world controlled by digital ducks and their friends, getting lost in the sup sauce is more common than you think. 2022 was a year where we worked on every character that has ever come out of SupDucks, and now to kick off 2023 we want to define that focus. Bright and wild ducks that say “Sup!”, it really is that easy, heck we had it trending on Twitter this past weekend. Keep scrolling if you want to see what all these ducks have unlocked and where you can shift your focus in 2023!
SUPDUCKS:
SupDucks are the OG staple of the ecosystem. Minted in July 2021, these cartoon ducks that yell SUP, drawn by Franky Nines, have grown to over 3800 holders spanning the globe! In 2021 and 2022 we created opportunities for SupDuck holders to claim within the eco and also express their creativity with toad building. In 2023 this comes full circle for holders of Wacky Ducks with the art installment and experience coming from the Jungle DuckGod. The Wacky Ducks are an art upgrade that holders could obtain by having their SupDuck lick a MegaToad here. The DuckGod experience is set to arrive in February 2023.
2022 also had some highlight moments for the ducks! We launched the wacky experience and art upgrade on 4/20. During the 1 year anniversary in July, every SupDuck owner received an airdrop of a matching pixel version of their duck. Crypto SupDucks are fun collector’s items, and continued the tradition we started with KingFrogs in 2021 of providing the ducks with assets and companions that complement what they have already picked out! We also started the SupDucks Dao, opened up our own marketplace via origin, and allowed Ducks to claim a matching usable VX model of their duck with volt!
King Frogs:
The KingFrog is a SupDuck’s best friend. If you aren’t caught up to date with the SupDuck lore, all SupDuck owners in the fall of 2021 received a claim for a free KingFrog with matching traits as their SupDuck. We also released a bunch of new KingFrog traits into the wild in preparation for holders to create a MegaToad by mashing 3 frogs (burning them forever) and picking the final traits. If you scroll back up to the SupDuck section, those wacky ducks you see don’t exist without the frogs!
We closed 2022 with some hype deals and news about the future of KingFrogs! KingFrog Crossing is now in live testing on both IOS and ANDROID! Anyone with a phone or tablet is now able to jump around as KingFrog, unlock new skins, and compete in events for high scores! Owners of KingFrogs will soon be able to unlock an outside-of-app experience where they can earn rewards on Polygon based on their ranking! Finally, we are working on a plush! Cuddle your KingFrog just sounds so right.
MegaToads:
MegaToads have a special place in the heart of the SupDuck community. MegaToads are the only SupDuck ecosystem creature designed and created by the KingFrog holders. In early 2022, holders were able to feed their KingFrogs some snacks to animate them. Then if you burned 3 animated frogs you were able to mix and match the frog traits to create your own custom MegaToad nft. Other than the 10 1:1s, all MegaToads were crafted by SupDuck and KingFrog owners.
There will only ever be 1000 MegaToads, and every SupDuck that wants to experience the wacky art upgrade to visit the DuckGod in February has to interact with one. The MegaToad community has a tight private channel with random perks within SupDucks. If you purchase a SupDuck that is already wacky on the marketplace, know that it wouldn’t be that way without licking someone else’s art. MegaToads are chonky and also deserve a cuddle. We premiered a sneak peek of the MegaToad plush in Q4 2022.
SUPDUCKS VX
One of the most exciting projects within SupDucks is probably the least talked about. In 2023 we are about to elevate SupDucks VX and their interoperability to the next level. We are targeting not just web3 users, but also web2 fans of the developing metaverse. So far in 2022 we have opened up our boardwalk for parties and events in VRchat, arrived in Sandbox season 3 as avatars, and have something cooking up for future Sandbox seasons (this is where the author was censored…photos give hints).
W-A-S-D walking around the boardwalk is epic, but so is putting on a headset and controlling your duck! Make sure to be on the lookout for any community event involving the VX ducks, and if you are minding your own business in a virtual platform watch out for the duck mob. SupDucks Cartoon
SupDucks is made for Saturday morning. Earlier in 2022 some special holders and community members were able to see the Cartoon pilot. Since then we have been keeping most of the info on the down-low. We dropped another small short this past week and will continue to leak bits and pieces as developments continue.
VOLT
The SupDucks utility token: $VOLT was upgraded to V2 in September 2022. You can read all about those changes here. In the past, $VOLT has been used to claim assets like VX SupDucks, mash frogs to create the MegaToads, lick a toad to make a duck wacky, and purchase snacks to animate your frogs.
$VOLT now has a capped supply and is used to join the SupDucks Dao (verified ducks within the Discord have access to the DAO information channels). We also set up a xToken LP pool for $VOLT as well. We will continue to utilize this utility token to interact across the ecosystem as it is developed. Want more info? Just type “!volt” in our Discord!
2022 Partnerships and Events
When it came to partnerships in 2022, SupDucks started working with some notable companies. Our SlyCroc collab with DraftKings introduced 2500 new characters to the boardwalk that came with constant DK utility. It opened up Discord to tons of new faces and took our level of banter up a notch! SlyCrocs is our first polygon collection in the boardwalk eco and it will be fun to follow how they develop in the future!
Speaking of leveling up the banter, it was an absolute barnburner when it came to our collaboration with Macy’s! We participated in a virtual parade for Thanksgiving and went up against some top Web3 communities using our assets as voting tokens and trying to earn the most votes! Ultimately we ended up second right behind Cool Cats but it served as a huge community boost! Many holders came out of hiding to vote #supducks and we hope the Cats let us splash some flare on their balloon in 2023!
SupDuck holders were given a plethora of perks and rewards thanks to our partners from Floor App, Webacy, and GridPlus. When it comes to “utility!?” we have been consistent with providing an unlock, coupon, or event specific for SupDuck holders multiple times a month!
In addition to partner perks, we opened a PerkShop in 2022. https://perk.shop/supducks is the home for all our token-gated perks that apply to all of our assets! We just recently shipped all the Q4 rewards, and we are about to roll out the Q1 2023 perks! Be on the lookout for more community announcements about what all you can unlock in 2023!
