Sup Ducks! In our last supdate we went over the new roadmap and discussed the upcoming loops coming to the ecosystem from Wacky Ducks! We have an exciting couple months coming up with conferences and events. And we also are looking forward to continuing to reveal the awesome things being built out on the Boardwalk in 2022!

VeeCon 2022

El Capitan FrankyNines will be speaking.

We have Veecon coming up May 19 — 22 and in addition to Franky talking on a panel we will have the team kicking it at our custom SupDuck booth. Shoutout to Scary Gary for the blueprints.

If you are gonna be going to Veecon make sure you show your SupDuck or KingFrog at the booth and we will have some merch for you! Shout out to Uniqly.io for working with our merch drop and allowing these to also function as Decentraland wearables!

STICKERS

We printed a new batch of fresh SupDuck stickers that we will be handing out at Veecon, and hopefully getting them in the hands of the community around the world! Make sure to check out updates in the SupDucks Discord for stickers as these will end up going to active members in addition to having new batches printed around event time. We will have stickers at NFT NYC in June as well!

Dr. Drool Stickers are a must!

Cartoon Update!

Justin came back by the stream yesterday to give an update on the cartoon! We have been getting tons of submissions from community members for the voice auditions and a second animatic has come out! We will continue to keep you updated as we enter into the animation mode and start matching some of the voices to the ducks!

Community Quack

Tropic Bird has been one of the most active and fun community members to grace the pond and on last week’s stream she revealed her very own Planet Boardwalk segment! Tropic spends some of her duckin time interviewing prominent community members and we would love to highlight some here in this supdate!

L: Jamars M: Unibros R: Supermassive

Some excerpts from the interviews:

  • TB: “What advice would you give to a new SupDucks collector?”

Jamars: “My advice for new supduck holders would be 1. make sure ur eating good, 2. if u haven’t used a airfryer yet its pretty good u should get one. and last but not least 3. wear sunscreen when the sun screen to avoid getting sunburnt.”

  • TB: “How has it been to draw SupDucks content?”

Unibros: “Being able to build characters & derivatives out of my owned SupDucks as well as incorporating other community members into the fold has been one of the most fun and open-ended artistic experiences of my life, the possibilities truly feel endless. One of the best things to come out of drawing SupDucks content has been getting to know a lot more of the community and team members, everyone I’ve interacted with have been such genuinely great people!”

  • TB: “Tell us about your crypto and NFT journey.”

Supermassive: “Trading garbage for pennies and scrapping my way to an illusory victory that evaporated painfully over the 2018–19 period. Stuck with it, quit my job directing commercials and went to work for Harmony as their creative director. Persuaded them to make videos, struck a deal with the Defiant to do a weekly show, made a film about digital art, used that to launch my one and only NFT project, the Rug Pull which we launched on Meme. Went full time Defiant, made a massive film about NFTs that Terry Crews called the best film he’d ever seen on crypto. Didn’t buy a single NFT till they’d completely tanked in the spring of 2021. Then went berserk. Launched a weekly livestream on NFTs trying to bring a different voice to the space. Still trying to do that, tell a different side to the story and where I can elevate and support the best of the space in the way I think only we can.”

L: Prawnbo M: HumblerHodler R: Bon
  • TB: “You recently recorded a dope tune available on MegaVolt Records, tell us about your music journey?”

PrawnBao: “This feels a little bit cheeky because my brother is really the creative genius behind this. We both started out in music from an early age. We grew up in a particular part of East London where Grime music was born in the early 2000s. Grime emerged out of the UK Garage scene but was a lot more gritty and the format was typically to spit bars over a 4x4 instrumental beat that was usually aired on Pirate Radio. Most notable MCs that were from the estate near us were the crew Roll Deep with the likes of Wiley and Dizzee Rascal. We were just kids at the time but we devoted our lives to buying records, DJing and MCing, essentially mimicking the pirate radio culture we tuned in to every week.

Eventually we started producing our own tracks but when this way of life started leading me down the wrong path with crime and gang culture I found myself at a cross roads. I decided to leave the music scene entirely and embark on a different path but my brother persisted and has carved out a career in music for himself. Fifteen years later, here I am in the SupDuck community and inspired to get creative and contribute to this project I love so much. I got in touch with my brother, laid down a few ideas and before we knew it we were in the studio together and going back to our roots.

The Lickening is the result of a lot fun, brotherly love and pure nostalgia but we couldn’t have done it with out the support of you guys. Shout out @frankynines and @Sofa King for helping us share this with you all.”

  • TB: “What would you tell someone new in SupDucks? How about someone wanting to create art in web3 or NFTs?”

Bon: “If you are a new member to SupDucks I would try to be as active and helpful to the community as possible. This project is lead by a team but that doesn’t mean that we all can’t create alongside them. If you are new to creating art in web3 and NFTs I would suggest to never give up. It is important to be consistent and persistent with anything you do and this is very important in this space. I would also say that it is important to stay adaptive as this space changes every day.”

As we near almost a year for SupDucks we will continue to highlight community members that are contributing not just to SupDucks but also to their individual communities and the space as a whole. Bunker down ducks! The creativity and content coming from the pond continues to feel like its just getting started. I am talking to the reader directly from Limp’s perspective, as KingFrog is making me swear by the jungle duck god “IMA STAY SUPIN!” It’s more fun this way…at least for me.

In Case You Missed It…

Dr. Bill Somehow got Otico the duck to appear on his television show for an interview after escaping prison.
Breadaverse 1/1 by Franky
Skilljoy participated in The Pond’s Got Talent in our discord with a created nft and won this wacky duck on last week’s stream!
