SWIPE Bi-Weekly Update, 27th August — 7th September
Hey everyone! Thanks for sticking by us, even though we know times are difficult especially for the traders. But fret not, our development and milestones are still on track. We are excited to share with you what we have been doing for the last two weeks and are eagerly awaiting to attend Consensus Singapore! (For anyone reading, don’t worry if you can’t attend the main event, there are a host of fringe events during the week of 17th-23rd September and most of them are FREE, more info at the end of this update)
27th August: Organising the Jakarta Blockchain Meetup, hosted by Ethereum meetup Indonesia
Recently, SWIPE organised the Ethereum meetup in Indonesia and it was a huge success! Our speakers eloquently shared about their ideas and thoughts while answering very in-depth questions from the community. We are looking forward to hosting another meetup at the tail end of this month.
We are very grateful to the Indonesian community for coming out to show support to our event, we will be trying out best to host an event every month so stay tuned with us and for any feedback or questions, please join SWIPE’s telegram community and chat with us! 28th August: Partnership with Origin Protocol!
SWIPE is pleased to formally introduce our partnership with Origin Protocol, a San Francisco-based blockchain company build a protocol for the creation of a decentralized sharing economy marketplace using the Ethereum blockchain and IPFS.
Origin Protocol’s platform can be described as the ‘Wordpress’ that empowers developers and businesses to easily build and deploy decentralized marketplaces. By targeting to disrupt large corporations such as Uber, AirBnB and Craigslist that is part of the sharing economy, Origin creates and improves value for other market participants by enabling direct business, peer to peer with ease that transcends borders defined by corporations or governments.

1st September: Release of SWIPE’s API (check it out at developer.swipecrypto.com)
Welcome to the SWIPE API (alpha version)! You can use our API to access SWIPE API endpoints for encryption and decryption utilities as well as data requests and re-encryption.
We have language bindings in Shell! You can view code examples in the dark area to the right, and you can switch the programming language of the examples with the tabs in the top right.
We will be using this API to give data ownership back to the users and to allow data buyers to unlock the data after their purchase. Check out our API (Alpha Version) here!

The ultimate local’s guide to navigating through Blockchain Week Singapore from 17th to 23rd September
If you are coming down to Singapore to attend Consensus, you are in for a treat! There will be many other side events during the whole week and the best way to keep track of the various events is by using this Google sheet found here created by Whaleblocks an ICO investment and niche marketing company. On Tuesday 18th of September, there is a record of 17 Blockchain related events happening on the same day! Do let us know in telegram if you have any question or recommendation on which event to attend!
