Taxa 2019 Retrospective
Dear All,
2019 was quite a year at Taxa. We completed the core engineering of Taxa Network, enabled programmable trust with performance, privacy and developability from the ground up, and expanded the Taxa ecosystem to include layer 1 projects and dApp developers. Developers got to use the alpha release of Taxa SDK to build dApps in various use cases.
Here we are reflecting on what we achieved on technology and ecosystem development.
Technology
Taxa Core
- Completed service component allowing anyone to deploy nodes with ready-to-use Trustless service (tService) module, the service applications with integrity and confidentiality secured with cutting edge TEE technology;
- Completed attestation protocol and User-TEE secure communication support;
- Implemented TEE-based key management and application context local storage;
- Implemented request/response protocol & URL routing;
- Added RESTful API support for user-node communication;
- Enabled quick deployment solution and documentation.
Pyxa tService Development Framework
- Completed Python derived development framework based on TEE, allowing development of trustless applications easy and straight-forward;
- Added rich functionalities via libraries, such as blockchain protocol communications, mathematics etc;
- Completed Python environment migration;
- Added basic library support: VRF, crypto, numPy etc;
- Implemented Layer 1 communication libraries (transaction authentication token);
- Added tService development documentation.
Taxa SDK
- Completed developer kit and documentation for tService and client applications;
- Implemented Javascript and Python SDK for implementing Taxa Node’s communication protocols on client side;
- Alpha released at ETHBoston.
Network
- Implemented and tested P2P network protocols.
Public Blockchain Smart Contracts
- Completed security audit of token related smart contracts;
- Completed the payment settlement contracts for Layer 2 tService communication.
Ecosystem
Partnerships
- Collaborated with NKN to fuse decentralized network with confidential compute;
- Collaborated with Harmony towards the holistic development of the blockchain infrastructure;
- Collaborated with Cocos-BCX to co-create seamless experience of blockchain game development and fuel new genres of blockchain games.
Developer Community
- Partnered with ETHGlobal on hackathons held towards the Ethereum developer community.
Crypto Community
- Contributed to Bitcoin 2019, Ethereum Devcon 2019, SF Blockchain week, etc;
- Hosted our AMA #1 on Blockchain Privacy.
