Hello everyone, welcome to my story. If you don’t know me, I’m Aysha Ayshu💖 writing honest incredible stories on Medium. You can visit my profile to check all of my stories. 🙃

I earned $160 on Vocal Media. You may not believe my words and might think this is an edited photo.

Here is the video proof.

Now I’m going to share how I earned this money.

Don’t miss my words and try to read until the end.

Let’s talk about Vocal and how to earn money from writing and publishing articles on Vocal Media.

Vocal Media is an online platform for writers and readers that allows writers to earn money from their writing through four different means: pay-per-view, tips, referrals, and occasional surprise bonuses.

Like many writers, when I first heard about Vocal Media, I was thrilled. I discovered the platform through a YouTube video.

I couldn’t wait to sign up and get started because the idea of getting paid for each article view without the hassle of managing my blog, paying for hosting, dealing with SEO, AdSense, and all the other complexities was appealing.

So, I decided to give Vocal Media a try and test my luck on the platform.

When did I join Vocal, and why?

I joined about 12 months ago after watching some great reviews by some of the YouTubers.

I was inspired by the idea of supplemental income and the opportunity to share my original Medium articles and earn on both platforms.

So, I would repurpose the articles I had written on Medium, make some adjustments, and publish them on Vocal, as Vocal allows.

If you already have a blog or a platform where you publish articles that you own the copyright to, you can easily transfer these articles, change the title a bit, and post them on Vocal. It originally seemed like a win-win situation.

What was my strategy in the last 12 months since I joined?

My strategy consists of two parts.

First, I transferred my originally written articles from Medium to Vocal. When I did this, I made sure to state the source at the end of the article and include a separate line with the link, saying that the article was originally published on Medium.com.

The second part of my strategy was to write consistent original articles that are over 600 words and fit into relevant categories. Vocal Media does not accept articles that are less than 600 words; 600 words is the minimum for each article to be published and accepted by Vocal Media.

I also aimed to promote my articles on my Facebook profile, in relevant Vocal Facebook groups for writers, niche-based groups that target my audience, and occasionally on Pinterest and Twitter.

If you want to get to know the Vocal platform better, I highly advise you to join some Vocal Media Facebook groups that I’ve found beneficial for writers.

The majority of my readers did come from Pinterest and Facebook rather than from the Vocal platform, and I’ll also include an overview of my stats as you can see here.

What are my results?

Unfortunately, due to some reason, I have not been able to be consistent on the platform now. I only wrote about 195 articles. However, other earnings came from wonderful bonuses.

Bonuses

So, it’s cool to think that you will get a $5 bonus for publishing 5 stories and $10 for publishing the 10th story on Vocal. It’s cool to get an extra $5 for reaching 1000 views on Vocal.

After I got a $10 bonus for being published in their new communities.

These are the bonuses I got from Vocal Media.

But,

there are some wonderful bonuses which I haven’t received.

Firstly, the top story bonus.

The majority of my earnings also came from being randomly selected as a top story. You get five dollars for each top story article selected by the editorial team. Note that these bonuses are subject to change and were never publicly declared on the Vocal platform.

I simply heard about them from other members who have experienced similar bonuses. It’s more like writers telling other writers what’s been happening. Next, there are some new bonuses.

Every week you will get a $20 bonus for:

  • “Most Discussed Stories this Week”
  • “Popular Stories with the Most Likes This Week”
  • “Most Read Stories This Week”
  • “Most Subscribed to Creators this Week”
  • “Most Supportive Commenters this Week”

If you want to know more about these new bonuses, please read this: Vocal Media New Bonus List.

Game-Changing moment for Me

I subscribed to Vocal + membership twice.

First in April 2023 then in June 2023.

After 1 month, I received an email from Vocal Media. They gifted me 4 months of Vocal + membership for free.

This was a game-changing moment for me because a normal Vocal member can earn $3.8 per 1000 reads, but Vocal + members can earn $6.0 per 1000 views.

So, is it worth it?

Was it worth my time?

I feel that there is big potential on the Vocal platform; however, because I wasn’t consistent in both reading and posting content, I was not able to reap the full benefits.

I know people who write and provide evidence that they make over $500 to $2000 per month just by writing on Vocal. They do so by writing SEO-optimized, Google-optimized content on Vocal, targeting low-competition, high-demand keywords.

So, what would I say in terms of whether it’s worth it or not? I would highly advise you to check out the platform as a side hustle rather than rely on it as your main writing platform.

For example,

Medium currently is my main writing platform, and it will continue to be so because it allows me the benefits of not only better earnings but also interaction and engagement with other writers.

What am I going to do next?

What are my intentions for the next couple of months?

Well, I hope to continue writing on the Vocal platform but adopt a strategy with a different approach. In terms of being more self-disciplined and committed, here’s an outline of the next steps that I intend to take:

First of all, I aim to post two to three 600-word articles a week. This is the minimum that I’m aiming for. Each article needs to be 600 words or more.

I intend to promote articles on relevant Facebook groups, Pinterest, and Twitter — not spam, but post on specific days that I’m allowed to post my articles there. I know some groups do allow that, so please make yourself familiar with each of the Facebook group rules so you don’t end up spamming and getting blocked.

I also intend to make sure that my articles, as much as possible, are SEO-optimized and consist of a mix of trending and mainstream topics. This would ensure that I get traffic from Google as well.

I intend to use tools such as SEMrush, a great tool to help research keywords and optimize headlines.

I want to also take the initiative to read, like, and comment, as well as follow at least 15 to 25 writers on the platform per week. Engage with them, give them likes, the engagement that they need.

For example,

liking, sharing, commenting, and following, because this will allow me to show them that I appreciate their work.

Genuinely read their work, and show them that I appreciate that, and they will reciprocate that back to me as well. It will help with networking as well.

So, every time I follow them, every time they post, I will get a notification. And every time I post, if they intend to follow me back, they will get a notification as well.

This will increase readership and networking, and it will also help in boosting my overall earnings as well.

So, it’s a win-win situation.

Are you currently using Vocal Media to earn passive income from your articles?

I’d love to hear from you in the comment section.

I love you very much. I appreciate you.
