Why should we accept Artificial Intelligence?

The world is slowly shifting to a time where we rely on technology for a great deal of the things we do today. Nothing has become more relevant in the world than the internet and the communication of humans through the use of the internet and new technology. Some people don’t believe in the use of artificial intelligence and want the world to stay the way it is, but the truth about artificial intelligence is that it is the next step in the update of our technology. Businesses will have to adapt to be able to work alongside this technology, and customers will have to accept the fact that humans may not be the one who is “serving you today.”

After some research and reading some of the work by my classmates, I have realized that I am not the only one who is ready to experience this new age of technology and the new ways that we function as a group of people. In particular, Connor Fetzer writes about the new age of artificial intelligence in his blog post “AI Override.” Connor states that the human race is constantly looking for a new and easier way to get things done, and with the use of AI, there is a chance that efficiency is within our midst (2020). If AI can cut back on the struggle of the process of a campaign, then we can get things done that much quicker and stress free. I completely agree with Connor that AI will make the process much more efficient, but it will also take away a lot of jobs that are needed in the process. We must learn to completely shift our domain and create new opportunities that will allow the people who lose jobs to find new ones. Once we have successfully found that alternative and shifted our focus, we can officially stay on top of AI and remain the dominant intelligence on this planet.

Connor makes another point that stood out to me. He talks about the human aspect of work and how people will make mistakes because they are “human.” Connor states, “In the past, human beings have made careless, costly mistakes so it makes sense that we are looking away from the past and looking for new solutions in the future. So looking at AI to take the place of previous roles held by people will smoothen out the wrinkles in daily activities” (2020). People always talk about how nobody’s perfect and there will always be something wrong when it seems so right. But with the implementation of AI, I believe that perfection is possible. We are only in the early stages of this technology and we are most likely a few decades from perfecting this mechanism, but the fact that perfection is in the conversation is a sign that businesses could see improvements like we’ve never seen before. Improvements that, as surprising as it sounds, will not include the human aspect as a part of the workload.
