People eating walls. Notes from TEDWoman Bold And Brilliant

The idea came from the futurist author Charles Jane Anders at the session named „Pattern Makers“.

I do have a particular interest in the patterns, especially events, behaviors, structures, and synchronicities and I was curious to get the formula.

The simulcast session (#MoMuseum) has featured five women from different angles of their work starting from saving elephants, stalking (gender-based violence, a pattern of behavior directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to feel fear), the rising era of privacy issues.

One of the ideas that is so vivid in this consumption world with data leakage every single day, that we put ourselves to the treadmill of reward of “like”, “share”, “heart” displays, and this data is a money that nobody is paying for — to us: you and me. But we pay to reach those who will put those symbols, sign up, buy, you name it — to take the action to purchase. Pathetic. Google engine tracks all our search history, the digital bakery of “cookies” appears and stores our taste, so the ads would be retargeted properly. The cost of each ad is published that is the type of data that advertising networks automatically collect and share with businesses.

And we do not get any single penny. This reversed and provoking thought has been shared by perception designer JiaBoa Li. On the other side, yes, I do agree with it saves our time, but you know lahh, all has it’s price. Now, the age of data.

What is the solution to stop tracking you, your browsing history: duckduckgo

Then you are still waiting to ask me: how those patterns are made?

And this is two phrases how it’s done: research sandwich and urban design porn. I noticed those two. However, TED talks gave bold approaches by analyzing the treats, for example:

Elephants these days compete with humans in Africa, because both species need to survive. What threatens elephants safes people. And that is bees. The sound of hives are paranoiac to the huge mammals, but it protects local farms, so they can produce ecologic honey.

Education activist and leader for female education in Africa, Angie Murimirwa, helps to raise funds to finish female primary education, set small businesses, and bring those women as mentors to the ones who need help and can’t afford the right education out of poverty.

The urban design porn from my creative point of view is a part of pattern making in our screens and neo blinking cities environment. If you look closer, you will notice you create a pattern. And it comes unconsciously, even though we adopt a pattern from the environment around us. Would it a trend or fashion style. There are so many predictions and trends listed in all areas of life, even Bill Gates is redesigning the toilet, so actually, we are interested at the same time we already know to the future will look like. The pattern is made when you make it trending when is viral, when you hit the algorithm, or make one.

Maybe people will eat walls when the apocalyptic pup barbecue (?!) takes place. Definitely we can agree that the future is the extension of today, as Charles Jane Anders expressed self and poured her imagination narrative.

Can you connect to some ideas in your life, business, relationships, trades? Do you see the pattern?

After reading this we get to the point, and roll the eyes, thinking about the skills do I need to drive to the change and rewire the brain. This research-based analysis right one, to target and nurture self accordingly and stay on track of life learning curve.
