Ladies together with their Learning Facilitators

The Andela Women Tech Leadership program is currently a six(6) weeks program that focusses on software development, entrepreneurship and leadership. The program also aims at empowering women and equipping them with skills to enable them become world class technologists. This is in line with Andela’s mission of empowering today’s team and advancing human potential. With the belief that brilliance is evenly distributed and gender neutral.

The first cycle attracted more than 100 ladies from all over Africa. Half of the applicants (all of whom were Ugandan) were selected to join the program. This is because the program is currently running in Uganda and yet to kick off in our Andela centres.

The program was officially launched by Christina Sass the president of Andela. Christina shared inspiring stories about her journey as a woman in technology and also shared the story of how Andela was founded.

During the program, the ladies were divided into groups and given a software project to implement individually. Each group was assigned learning facilitators (Andelans) who were responsible for the progress and mentorship of the ladies.
