Dear Friends,
I am writing to let you know that I shall be taking a break from The Coffeehouse Cleric. Over the next two months I need to dedicate more time to finishing my degree. I will resume usual writing in June.
Since September last year I have published on a much more regular basis, aiming to post articles of approximately seven-hundred-and-fifty words every week. This endeavour has been a helpful exercise for me; I have learnt to be more consistent and, at the same time, to be more creative, always on the look out for inspiration. I am starting to take my writing more seriously. I am thankful for those friends, particularly David and Josh, who have encouraged me in this direction.
Consistency in my writing output has resulted in a growing and more engaged readership. I am therefore also learning to take more seriously you, my reader. I want what I write to be meaningful, to add value, to influence and inspire you for good. I noticed that some of the most popular articles I wrote were to do with minimalism and simple living, so I have written more on this topic. I love to receive feedback, to have you increasingly interact with my work through your comments or by sharing it with others. Only a couple days ago I saw in town a friend whom I had not met for some years, and the first thing she said to me was how she enjoyed my writing and often forwarded it on to her mother. To her, and to everyone else, thank you for reading.
In the coming months, though mainly focussing on my degree, I also have a couple other writing commitments. I am looking forward to sharing them with you, and as they come out I will post links on here. I am also excited for what’s next, after the degree, as I plan to take my writing to the next level; but more on that another time.
Until June, keep up the curiosity and keep asking the big questions of life.
Alex
