Dear Barb,

The town siren just went off to send us to or shelter. My basement is the safest place in my home. I’ll go down when I hear the train. Actually, that might be soon, as it is totally still outside.

Obviously I thought of you and the stories you shared about the storms and tornado alerts in Montreal. I think I replied that I love storms and don’t get ruffled by tornadoes.

I don’t. We get so many.

It’s dark out now.

Wind has just picked up. Best run out and put all the pots on the ground. Trees are bending low. I’ll have limbs to clean up tomorrow.

I’m going to write a piece on preparing for tornados for those experiencing them for the first time. It would be scary.
