Ah the BYOverse. A land of undiscovered beauty, mind-bending treasure, and opportunity waiting to be discovered and claimed… but don’t get caught trippin’, it’s full of mystery and danger, so tRead carefully. It all starts with a pill, a BYOPill (NFT) to be exact — a beautifully crafted consumable containing a rare, psychoactive ingredient in an irresistible, slick packaging that can grant your Apostle avatar near omnipotence, heighten the senses, or send one reeling with negative thoughts and paranoia. Legends claim that thousands of Apostles have perished fighting for the possession of $TRYP (token) or trypamine — “the ultimate form of enjoyment and pleasure.” To harvest the rare ingredients one must venture deep into the BYOverse — a living and breathing world with player-driven Apostles scouring around, harvesting resources, organizing convoys, raiding transports and settlements, trading in nearby and far away towns, and going about their business. The habitat is not friendly, with an unstable environment generating lethal energy spikes, and the wilderness full of untamed monsters, beasts, bandits, rouge players, and pirate guilds. To survive there one will have to use skill, diplomacy, and cunning, but the grind is not in vain, as leveling up your NFT BYO assets on the blockchain make them ever more valuable. Consume or be Consumed (BYOPills are Core)

A tryp through the BYOverse may seem like a daunting task at the first glance, but follow along and soon enough you’ll be on your way. Remember — it always starts with a pill. The BYOVerse ecosystem is currently composed of BYOPills, Apostles, BYOCrafts, BYOLand, and access passes: BYOKey, BYOVape. The BYOPill is the nucleus of the ecosystem as each of the aforementioned elements have been granted to owners of the BYOPill NFT.

On top of being the keys to a variety of airdropped assets where the pill components influenced the rarity and characteristics of Apostles, Crafts, and Land, the BYOPills were envisioned as the first consumables of the extended Metaverse. Pills power everything in the BYOverse. To gain access to certain areas of the BYOVerse protected with BYOEncryption, including the BYOP Facility and its restricted areas, one will have to inhale a BYOPill with a BYOVape device. The pills act as blueprints to craft items and consumables in the BYOVerse. Depending on its traits and levels, the crafted pills will provide a variety of stat boosts and visual effects. The exact effects have not been confirmed, but some possible effects of a BYOPill could allow an Apostle to teleport, be invisible, harvest more resources, or increase a BYOCraft cargo capacity, acceleration or speed — though it’s just speculation to illustrate the possibilities. A BYOPill will provide a boost in $TRYP generation — the currency of the BYOVerse. An augmented reality Tryp Replicator app where users can see deploy their pills and select a combination of their traits to augment a video or a picture is one of the early examples of extended utility.

The BYOKey to the Future

The BYOKey and BYOVape are special devices that are not needed to play the future game but were key elements of the journey. The BYOKey is a prised artifact that allowed access to the Armoury and claim the Apostles. (A snapshot was taken of all BYOPill holders on August 26th, 2021, allowing holders to claim a free BYOKey for each BYOPill owned resulting in 7,642 BYOKeys being minted.)

Upon entering of the Armory, Voltron ingested one of his pills and a biopod lit up housing a Voyager Apostle. He approached the byoencrypted pod and popped in the access key into the socket. He felt a strange sensation as if his body was coming apart into separate molecules. It was a frightening and yet pleasant sensation.

This May Be Their Last Supper (The Apostles)

Apostles are full-body, rigged 3D avatars through which one will access the BYOVerse, as well as other future Metaverses. With over 365 traits randomly generated across four tiers of Apostles including Voyagers, Psychonauts, Ancients, and Goddesses, providing the holders with unique utility, there will be thousands of player avatars inhabiting the BYOVerse. They will venture into the unknown to explore, harvest or steal resources, interact with players, guilds and NPCs, guard or raid convoys, craft items, and participate in a variety of scripted and player organized events. Depending on the type, Apostles will offer a variety of upgrades in the Apostle Skill Tree. We can only speculate what these will be at this point, but one can surmise it’d be possible to boost speed, accuracy, strength, environmental effects resistance, teleportation tolerance etc. It will be possible to further customize one’s Apostle with detachable NFT items such as vision-enhancing scopes or stamina-inducing high-efficiency filters and a variety of other gear.

No one has actually seen a Goddess, though Voltron was certain they do exist — after consuming some very rare rainbow mushrooms he was lucky to find deep in Amazonia, a Goddess manifested to him in a vision… he is almost certain, she spoke and touched him. He felt… altered, ever since.

Owning an Apostle NFT provides some advantages for players owning them as they provide upgrade versatility through the Character Skill Tree, but owning is not a prerequisite to play as the game will be free-to-play. It’s been suggested that they will be rentable allowing scholars to participate and earn rewards in the ecosystem. The possibility of cloning has also been teased, making the genesis Apostles even more valuable. In addition to having all that fun, you will be able to stake an Apostle using a BYOPill (told you they are core) with a 1-to-1 ratio. The more BYOPills you tie in (not actually stake), the more $TRYP you’ll generate. The same mechanic will be applied to BYOPills and BYOLand, with 13% of TRYP being allocated 60/40 between Apostles and land. How is that for a treat? An Apostle is your living, breathing, and money-making identity of the future, not just some pretty picture. Cherish it accordingly.

Voltron understood early on that everything in the BYOVerse is connected because Boris the Cook had a grand vision. The Apostles all trace their origin to BYOPill components and ingredients.

Inhale Before Entering (The BYOVape)

Inhaling a BYOPill throught the BYOVape, a biological verification tool, granted access to certain areas of the BYOVerse protected with BYOencryption, including the BYOCraft Manufacturing Plant, where holders picked up their BYOCrafts. (A Snapshot was taken of all BYOPill holders on November 19th, 2021, allowing holders to claim a free BYOVape for each BYOPill owned.)

Voltron carefully positioned the pill into the BYOvape, he looked behind one more time scanning the perimeter — he must’ve lost them… for now. He pressed the trigger. A rush of nausea and fear rolled through his body followed by a wave of joy and absolute clarity. He struggled with the overwhelming emotions and stood still for a moment waiting to regain his composure. He stepped onto the access pad and the massive gates to the manufacturing plant started to part open. As he walked through the long corridor, three stalls were illuminated and the guarding force fields have been released. In the distance he could see the sleek, gleaming shape of his metallic blue and orange Spyder BYOCraft ready to dust off into the unknown. Now try to catch me — he thought, as he released the safeties and stepped on the gas pedal.

One had to be wary of the Byodactyls which liked to fly in huge swarms seemingly well on their way to a far away destination, and then suddenly, as the prey became comfortable, the swarm would swiftly turn and pounce on the unaware. The swarms were often followed by the scavenger guilds —who kept their distance.

Some Talk, Some Walk, Some Port, Some Simply Enjoy the Ride (BYOCrafts)

Similar to Apostles the BYOCrafts are 3D, AR-enabled, game-ready vehicles that will allow one to traverse the BYOVerse, as well as other future metaverses with speed and style. They will be one of the most efficient modes of transportation allowing the Apostles to explore, transport resources, and participate in races and other organized events. They are your vehicles of the future. BYOCraft come in four tiers — the Voyager-bound Ryder, Psychonaut’s Spyder, Ancient’s Tytan, the ultra-rare Valkyrie of the Godesses, and the generic Duster. It’s important to note that the Apostles determined the minted craft types, but they are not exclusive, as any Apostle type can mount any craft. Each craft type has its own unique set of traits & utility impacting the four basic statistics including acceleration, durability, max speed and handling. With use, the BYOCraft will accrue experience allowing the owners to allocate it and improve its base stats even further.

The fast, the strong and the furious.

Remember, in NFT games the grind is not in vain, as leveling up the craft (and all other BYO assets) and improving its stats will be directly reflected in the BYOCraft NFT making it ever more unique and valuable as its utility extends beyond the BYOverse to other Metaverses. As with all things BYO, the crafts will be fully customizable with additional NFT attachments that can be crafted or procured from the Marketplace. Get ready to take your fully personalized ride for a spin through the digital worlds of the future.

The path to riches is never easy, regardless of the Metaverse, but Voltron was persistent. He heard of a hidden and dangerous Heat Circuit race in the Desolation Dunes that was paying a hefty $Tryp prize to all participants daring to try.

Buy Your Own Land (BYOLand)

The BYOVerse is composed of 10,056 BYOLand parcels, with varying biome types. The land traits were determined by the BYOPills used during the land mint event using a formula where the pill tops determined the terrain type, pill ingredients became the resources that are present and sum of trip levels impacted the abundance of the resources. Do not be distracted by the sheer and ever present beauty of the BYOVerse… this is a rich but volatile land.

Unlike the Apostles which require a tied-in pill to generate $TRYP, you will be able to staking your land as is. However, BYOLand will generate $TRYP based on its inherent abundance, but it will also be possible to tie-in BYOPills to provide a 35% multiplier per pill to TRYP generation. On top of staking you will be able to earn $TRYP by tending to your land, gathering resources, constructing buildings, and performing a variety of other activities. Depending on the type, BYOland will produce resources that will need to be actively harvested, transported, and deposited in your base or a trading hub. These resources can be used to craft items, convert them to $TRYP, sell them on the marketplace, or consume them to get a variety of boosts such as enhanced vision or invisibility. Owning multiple adjacent parcels, even from multiple zones, will boost resource production and offer more building options. Scavenger Apostles can harvest resources from your parcel but they will have to pay tax so no one can ever appropriate all your resources without a benefit to you. Selecting the right spot for your property is key. If your lands are easily accessible they may be raided often but you should have no problem transporting your goods to trade. On the other hand, being too far out comes with many other perils.

Only the bravest and most experienced Apostles venture into the Nebula. It’s a frigid, mind altering world with radiation spikes that can pierce through the best gear, filled with predators that devour each other because of constant shortage of prey. Because of its riches, expeditions are sent there often, but rarely return.

Do not feel overwhelmed, there are many ways to accomplish your goals in the BYOVerse. As with any other BYO assets you’ll be able to upgrade your land by constructing building to boost the efficiency of resource harvesting or to protect the resources from raiders. Once built, your base is your personal safe zone where you can always teleport to, and not be pursued or attacked. You can also join or pay a guild to protect you and your goods.

It’s important to note that anyone can play the game, whether they own a BYO NFT assets or not. However, owning a BYO assets will provide numerous aforementioned advantages. BYOLand will offer resource growth and potential earnings, BYOPills will be the blueprints for all consumables crafted in the BYOVerse, while owning an Apostle will offer more versatile skill trees.

The team makes or breaks a project. Anyone watching the project over the last few months can attest to the fact that BYOStudios with P_ether (strategy), Dr. Ether Jay (development), GeorgeTheSousCook (art) and Jetheca (art) is an AAA tier team. They have consistently produced high end content releases throughout the journey. Every collection drop was accompanied with cinematic video teasers, guides and full 3D models. Every release has built upon the previous. Everything has been built around the BYOPills with each element impacting the others. Nothing in the BYOVerse came into being without the NFT owners input and interaction. This magnificent future living entity is being slowly crafted by the future players using the components designed with much foresight by the team.

The mysterious Boris the Cook has left many a treasure scattered throughout the BYOVerse to be uncovered by the bold and the reckless.

When everyone was jumping on the PFP bandwagon, the team quietly kept building and releasing small teasers of what appeared to be just another NFT collection. When the bull was running amok the team kept building releasing small glimpses into the vast universe they were creating. Keeping this quite when you know you have a diamond is not an easy feat. When the bear came, they continued to build with a clear goal in mind. Know this, when this team cooks, they always cook with Kobe beef, nothing less is acceptable.
