#RUNUBC, serve Lemonade, and more.

Each Friday for the foreseeable future I will be posting a playlist of ten songs that have caught my attention during the week. Each playlist will feature ten songs which mix the new and old with some love showed to our Goodgetter fam. If you would like a song for me to check out please Tweet me or post a comment on the page.

For more about who the Goodgetters are click here. And for even more music, check out my Favourite Songs of 2014.

#RUNUBC — Allo

Ooooooh weeeeeee. The Godfather of the Goodgetters gives us a look into what the Goodgetters are all about.

Lemonade — Laydy Jams ft Allo

Laydy Jams just recently turned one. I cannot wait to see what they do in Year Two. These four extraordinary women never fail to bring the jams.

New Years Ever — MØ

Can you believe the first week of February is almost over? I can’t either, it feels like New Years was last night. MØ gives us a song that captures how one might feel reflecting on their past year.

No Role Modelz — J.Cole

My favourite part of this song is has J.Cole samples a George W. Bush speech. Fool me once, shame on you…

“No Role Modelz” is the transition point in Cole’s album, where he stops looking back and starts to decide what the future holds for him.

Kaleidoscope Dope — Matt Easton

What happens when you take a sample of one of my favourite songs and turn it into a song that never fails to kick back to? You get “Kaleidoscope Dope.”

Speed Racer — Metro Thuggin

“Speed Racer” is the latest release from Young Thug and Metro Boomin’s collaboration. “Speed Racer” feels like a straight up throwback for hip-hop.

When I’m High — Leks Rivers

Leks (pronounced Lakes) Rivers is a 20 year old producer/singer from London. With “When I’m High” it is apparent Leks knows what goes into a hit. And while it lacks some polish it doesn't take away from the shine.

Drinkin’ — Appleby

Everything you need to know about Appleby in one quote:

I’d rather have someone judge my music, because once it’s done, it’ll never change. But me as a person? We’re all flawed and we all make mistakes trying to figure out who we are.

For more on this new artist go to Pigeons & Planes.

No Rest For The Wicked — Lykke Li ft A$AP Rocky

This song is almost a year old but it still is fantastic. There are few things better than Rocky and Lykke Li going back and forth.

Blessings Ekali Remix — Big Sean, Drake, & Kanye West

Ending this week’s playlist with a banger by Vancouver producer Ekali. This one should get any party turnt.

Stay tuned for my January Grab Bag of all things awesome in the first month of 2015. In the mean time this playlist is available on Soundcloud for your enjoyment:
