The report of its death was an exaggeration

I solemnly swear to be purple all my days — image by the author via Midjourney

I know I promised never to publish an article on Medium again. But some of you may have noticed The Identity Current fell out of your list of Publications to which you could submit your work.

In brief, the previous owner departed from Medium, and the Publication went with her. When I discovered she would not return, I petitioned Medium to return the Publication to my name. After about a week of waiting on Medium Support, The Identity Current was reinstated.

But something else must be done. The torch must be passed again. I still intend not to renew my membership in April.

In this announcement — fortunately — I intend to be a bit less effusive in my prose. I thanked each of you already for your support and your love. My gratitude has not diminished, and — as I asked in the last article — I fully expect all of you to support the new Owner and Editor-in-Chief in his operation of The Identity Current.

But first, a brief blessing

I had a phone conversation with the previous owner since I received word from Medium Support. She and I discussed my reclamation of the Publication and my intent to pass it to another worthy writer. She blessed both actions and wished the best to those who remain.

I will miss her work — her poetic description, her askance view of life, her scintillating stories.

More to the point: I will miss her. Thank you for your service, Sister. A blessing upon you and your future.

And now…the moment you’ve all been waiting for…

I am exceptionally honored to announce the new Owner and Editor-in-Chief is Tucker Lieberman.

Tucker has been there with me from the beginning. He has always been supportive and caring, and he encourages me over and over until I can’t help but believe in myself.

It doesn’t hurt, of course, that Tucker is one of the most intelligent writers I ever had the pleasure to read. His philosophical bent shines through every article, and if you haven’t spent time savoring his work over a snifter of brandy in a lavender-scented bath, you’ve missed a rare treat in your life.

Tucker: you are a Brother in many more ways than a community could offer. You are truly a worthy successor, and I look forward to seeing the changes you intend to bring.

A blessing upon you, my friend.

The tag cloud

To ensure each of you is aware of these changes, I will tag you all again. My blessings to you all!
