Why a blog? And why ‘The Intensities’?
Why a blog? Because I enjoy reading them, and I thought I might like writing one. Almost all of the writing I do now is for journal articles and grant applications. As writing, it leaves me unsatisfied.

These are my reviews of the literature on mood disorders, emotions, the self, adolescent development, and all the stuff that interests me. I work as a psychiatrist and researcher in Melbourne, Australia. In the clinic I mainly see adolescents and young adults with mood disorders.
