Do the Houthis care about Palestinians’ liberation from their Zionist oppressors?
The students of Columbia University think they do.
The following article is Part 1 of my Genius Ivy League Demonstrations series. Read Part 2 here. Read Part 3 here.
In the last few weeks, the Houthis have emerged as one of the dominant players in the escalating conflict in the Middle East. If you believe the mainstream media’s telling, it happened this way: Israel went to war in Gaza for no reason (I guess the Hamas massacres of October 7 are just soooo 2023) other than to commit genocide. Since then the Houthis, who are from Yemen, have terrorized various ships traversing the Red Sea in a valiant fight for the liberation of their Palestinian brothers and sisters. At one point in their genius military planning, they hijacked a ship that they thought was Israeli…that actually wasn’t, terrorizing the international crew who had nothing to do with this conflict. We can all agree this is a defensive strategy to ensure that Gaza and the West Bank prosper into the future (the erasure of the Jewish state is simply a secondary goal).
The Houthis and Hamas have a lot in common beyond their Iranian benefactors — one of which is their brilliant PR strategy of appealing to their useful idiots of the West who are happy to blame Israel…
