I am the Lord of the Underworld,
And I feel cold.

Every night,
I walk through the dark caverns,
Around the moats of fire,
And hear the screams of the damned,
Of the vile,
Of the cruel,
Of the greedy,
Whose selfishness and pride,
Caused untold suffering.

They can’t hurt anyone here.

Their victims,
Tortured,
Broken souls,
Rest in Elysium,
Tended to by Zeus,
And Hera,
And Aphrodite,
And Dionysius.

My brother and his family,
Show them kindness,
Joy,
Love,
And are loved in turn.

I am not kind,
I don’t know how to be,
I never learned how,
I was born in the underworld,
Know only how to inflict pain,
And create eternal suffering.
