I Love it When I Don’t Fear Death

I relish those moments,
When I’m so down and hopeless,
That all my silly fears of dying and oblivion,
Morph into relief.
That feeling of quiet joy,
Like when you’re working a shit job,
And remember that you only have a few hours left,
Before you can go home.
All the challenges,
Frustrations,
And disappointments,
Suddenly feel less suffocating.
Everything feels easier,
All hardships endurable,
Any heartache negligible,
When you know it’s going to end.
Life is long,
Cruel,
Unfair,
But it does end.
