The Astronaut came home,
And reported there was,
No hope in the stars.

He told the people of Earth,
That the aliens were just as greedy,
Selfish,
And Cruel,
As the tyrants of our world.

They had no wisdom to offer,
No truth to impart,
No secrets of peace and harmony to share,
Nothing.

Half of them tried to kill the astronaut,
The other half tried to take his stuff.

A few just cried,
Or stared,
Or crawled through the ruins of their homeworld,
Searching for food and loved ones.

The people of Earth wept,
And the astronaut said,
“It’s not all bad,”
And he pulled out a bottle,
Filled with a purple liquid.
“One of the aliens gave me Space Vodka.”

The people of Earth shrugged,
And said,
“Fuck it.”
