Year of Change
This is it.
This year will be the one that does it,
The one where everything changes,
My dreams realized,
My demons silenced,
My insecurities overcome,
My broken heart mended.
The year,
When I will no longer be,
Alone,
Afraid,
Lost,
Angry,
Humiliated.
The clock will strike midnight,
And like a phoenix rising from the ashes,
I will be reborn,
A new man,
A powerful,
Handsome,
Charming,
Intelligent
New man.
I mean,
It’s never happened before.
Every other year has been the same for me.
The ticking of a clock,
Has never brought about change,
All by itself.
Perseverance,
Courage,
Hard work,
These are the things,
That can change a life.
But they always take so long,
And I’m too scared to do them,
In case I fail.
I must believe,
That this New Year will be different,
Otherwise…
Otherwise I don’t know what I’ll do.
Let me keep my hope,
Let the others like me keep theirs,
For it is all we have.
