Despite Ace Academy not having a basketball program, Tarver flourished in the Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation basketball league as well as the Christian Fellowship Church basketball league. He possesses a combination of speed and athleticism that makes him very tough to defend. Additionally, Tarver is entering his second summer with the Macon United Elite AAU Boys Basketball Program.

NOTABLE: Tarver tallied 22pts & 8rebs in the 2016 Christian Fellowship all-star game (was 4–4 from three point land).
