I started with a simple test where I targeted to test its text-to-speech quality by making it read a recent article I wrote on Cleanup.pictures.
After signing up, I immediately started the new project. There I was surprised that it provided a wide range of categories to choose from to get more relevant AI voices. I picked the “Article & Blog” category.
In the main project dashboard, I pasted the blog content and let it automatically split the script by paragraphs.
From the left sidebar, I clicked “Explore AI Voices” to look into the different voices available. Immersively, there were many voices to pick. However, most of them required the Pro plan subscription.
I kept the default voice and then played the output. The audio it generated didn’t feel like a real human voice. It was super-fast and not listen-friendly.

Experiment #2 Testing Text-to-Speech by Adding Pitch, Pause, and Speed Filters
Now that we know Murf.AI needs more input from us to generate a quality voiceover, the second experiment incorporates this element. In this test, I used the same article text and added pitch, pause, and varied speed at different blocks in the script. Moreover, I also changed the AI voice from Young to Middle-Aged.
The voice output this time is more realistic. It did give a sense of a real tone. After this test, I can definitely start seeing the claims of Murf.AI in reality. It just requires proper time to set the pitch, pause, and speed with the right voice actor to make a realistic natural voiceover.
Experiment #3 Use Media with the Voiceover
Besides text-to-speech conversion, Murf.AI can also add music, images, and videos with the voice to create a perfect media file. So, the third and last test is to check the output quality using media.
I clicked the “Add Media” option from the left sidebar and got two options, i.e., upload my own media or use Murf.AI provided stock music, images, and videos. Since my content was an informative article, I selected the stock music option and picked relevant background music. It also gave me the option to add multiple different media files.
After adding the music to the project, I played the final output. The experience just got even better. Now my text-to-speech version is more listen-friendly.
