Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
Neil Gaiman breathes life into the ancient epics of the Norse Gods in this must-read fantasy novel.
“The Norse myths are the myths of a chilly place, with long, long winter nights and endless summer days, myths of a people who did not entirely trust or even like their gods, although they respected and feared them.”―Neil Gaiman

Massive Similarities Between Different World Mythologies — The 5 Major Shared Themes
“Many eighteenth and nineteenth century scholars believed that all world mythologies showed signs of having evolved from a single mythical theme.
There are over a hundred different world mythologies that we know of today. Among these are the Greek, Roman, Norse, Etruscan, Celtic, Slavic, Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Babylonian, Arabian, Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Chinese, and many more myths.
Anyone with the knowledge of more than one of these world mythologies would realize that there are some glaring similarities between them.” -ED Times
Watching:
Vikings is a History Channel show about, you guessed it, Vikings!
It’s action-packed and has a great storyline, but I’ve found that the most intriguing part of the show isn’t the physical war. Instead, it’s the religious and cultural clash that occurs between the different groups.
Looking for something new to binge? Lucky for you, seasons 1–5 are already out. Better get crackin’. 😜

Fun Fact Friday
Speaking of ‘myths’… here are some of our favs:
- Gum doesn’t take years to digest
- Cracking your knuckles will not give you arthritis
- Carrots don’t actually improve your vision
- Clouds are not lightweight
- Fortune Cookies are not from China (You probably already know that, but the history of fortune cookies is still pretty cool!)
- For pretty obvious reasons, cops don’t have to tell you they are a cop.
