Wow. In case you’ve been living in your underground bunker preparing for the coming apocalypse (side note: help a woman out. Send your bunker’s coordinates. I’ve got useful skills for a post-apocalyptic world) there are two major things going down: the continuing fight against the Senate healthcare bill and the shitstorm that is Donald Trump, Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer in the hopes of getting dirt on the Clinton campaign.

We at The Nevertheless Project are keeping up with both. You can get a quick and dirty rundown of everything that’s gone on today here. We’ll be going in depth into both later in the week, so keep an eye out.

But sometimes, you just want to see some of the best tweets from the past couple of days.

Let’s kick things off with Senator Chris Murphy, who manages to sum up the day in two succinct tweets:

Followed shortly by:

Yep. That’s about how the day goes. So let’s get Russia out of the way first.

Pour one out for Jared Yates Sexton, who’s been chasing down the Trump/Russia story for years. And then, as we’ve all seen, Don Jr. just goes and tweets the whole email chain. ::headdesk::

In case you’re having trouble following the plot on the Russia story, here’s a handy dandy flowchart. Be sure to click through and check out her reply, complete with a new flowchart.

Where there’s smoke:

This was def Don Jr.’s top-played song on Spotify:

Meanwhile, a preview of Trump’s statement on the situation:

It’s time to go ahead and call out the bullshit hypocrisy:

Sometimes you just need to lean into the caps lock and shout about the state of the world right now.

Deep breath in. Deep breath out. Ok, on to healthcare.

Congress is back in session. We delayed the vote before their Fourth of July recess, so let’s get back to it.

McConnell’s pulling out all the stops to try to make this happen. We’ve got to push back even harder.

Keep reminding your senators that this bill is shit. Making it more conservative may get Senate Republicans the votes they need to pass it, but we’ll remember when they’re up for reelection. Keep making this bill toxic politically.

Take your lead from this Friend of the Pod. Go all in. Don’t back down.

Let’s revisit Senator Murphy’s To Do list, because as flashy and intriguing as the Russia story is, we’ve got work to do elsewhere too.

Consider this the action items. If you make four calls today, three should be about healthcare and one can be for Russia.
