BitGuild Portal Update — Ether.Online Giveaway and Upcoming Features
A look at what we’re working on, and what’s to come
A week ago we launched what we called portal v0 — an initial version that included several key elements such as PLAT converter, item inventory, game catalogue, chat, and localizations. Since then, our the first game integration Ether Online has gone on to be the top grossing game on the Ethereum blockchain—and DappRadar doesn’t even show PLAT spent. For this post, we wanted to share a quick update on our current progress and plans going forward.
In the past week, we have been focusing on improving and polishing the portal, migrating to the new infrastructure and deployment pipelines, and more. Some of the key changes include new chatrooms for different languages, richer analytics, and upcoming Ether Online airdrop functionality.
Most of these things are scheduled to go live today, along with our second game integration: Magic Academy! This is an exclusive game for the BitGuild portal created in partnership with another great studio. Yeah, we move fast.
Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect next:
- Three more game integrations we’re working on with our new partners Axie Infinity, Eth.Town and Mythereum.
- Better mobile support. We realize that mobile adoption for Ethereum wallets is on the rise, and more and more players are using apps like Cypher and Trust Wallet to play crypto games. With that in mind, we’re going to focus on optimizing the mobile user experience and work with game developers to ensure that as many games as possible can be played on mobile.
- Marketplace! We’re currently working on our own marketplace for ERC721 tokens that will use PLAT as the main currency. All the games on the portal will benefit from this marketplace by default; no need to build your own if you integrate with us!
In other exciting news, we welcomed two new members to our team this week! We’re thrilled to have Shain and Calvin (both Senior Engineers) on board to help us build a new home for cryptogamers. We also moved to the new office in San Francisco’s Mission District, so if you’re in the area, come say hi!
