State of the Guild #48

Important GuildChat news and a new TronTrade token

Welcome to another edition of the State of the Guild — our weekly compendium of BitGuild news. This week, we have important information about GuildChat for Android users, as well as some development updates. And we announce a new token on TronTrade! Let’s check it out.

GuildChat

Once again, Google has suspended GuildChat from its app store due to an issue with the code that still allowed external downloads. We have now fixed the problem and appealed to get it reinstated, but Google has advised us that we need to upload a new package. What does that mean for our Android users?

• The current Android version can no longer be updated.
• Android users will have to back up their wallets from the current version, download the new app from the Google Play Store, and import the wallet again. For instructions, check out this guide.
• Current user data such as friends, groups, and bookmarks will be migrated to the new app. However, all chat histories will be lost.

The new GuildChat app for Android will be released in the next few days. Our team will be helping users to safely and easily migrate their accounts to it.

On the development side, this week was spent doing the following:

Desktop version: Worked on the UI components and developed a demo to test the API.

Chat System: Developed the group module and sync message module.

• New UI: Completed the light and dark theme design.

Next week, our team will focus on providing a demo test for the Desktop version while they keep working on the Chat System requirements.
