Liberal Party of Australia

--

If you’re unclear as to who this party is, please tell me how you’ve completely managed to disassociate yourself from Australian politics because honestly that might be the only thing that will stop me going insane. Like, how do you not remember this?

This still gives me nightmares.

But anyways, this is the party that has been in power for the last 6 years, and if you don’t think the Abbott-Turnbull-Morrison government was a complete and utter dumpsterfire, you’re very clearly blind to the fact that I just wrote three PM’s names for a 6 year period, which likely is exactly what you went after Labor for the last time they were in power.

And if that isn’t enough to convince you, maybe the 8 high-profile resignations from the party over the past few months is enough of a warning sign. If the people in the know are jumping ship, it might be a good idea to do the same.

And sure, they may have heralded that Australia is “back in the black” with the surplus, but 1. we actually aren’t back in surplus yet, they only project to be in surplus by the end of the next financial year and 2. This budget won’t even be passed by the current government or parliament so none of it’s measures matter because they will all be altered after the election, no matter which party wins.

Policy

So just like the ALP, they have a lot of policy. Policy that, frankly, I can’t be bothered reading. But if you really want to know, you can check out their plan here. But to be honest, most of their flagship policy will be announced during the campaign so probably just listen out for it then.

However, again like the ALP, they have got the weirdest attempt at humanising their leader I have ever seen. Just look at this:

There’s just a lot going on here.

It looks like this election will be choosing between a shade of beige and a different shade of beige that owns an “I stopped the boats” trophy. Dear god what have we come to.

Vote for them if

You’re going down with this ship.
