Supposedly from the “political centre”, this party’s platform is based on the idea that we have had too much immigration, and we need to focus more on our own, which sounds worryingly right wing, but they do somehow use it to justify some left-wing stances. And sure, using a single issue to base your policy on isn’t the worst thing you can do, but when it’s the same issue that One Nation is screeching about, you may have a problem.
Also, at least one of their members is a massive Dick so that’s an immediate red flag.
However, any party that uses a fucking hashtag in their registered name is trash in my book.
Policy
As mentioned above, this party’s entire policy is based on more than halving Australia’s immigration intake. And sure, you’ve got exactly what you expect in things like more jobs for Australians rather than foreigners, and restricting foreign investment, but they also want to push for 100% renewables by 2050, and actually want to take in refugees, which you’re not going to get from any other party running on this platform.
But, they do ignore that we get a lot of skilled workers from immigration which helps offset our ageing population and that 50% of global CO2 emissions come from the wealthiest 10% of the population, so slightly more people probably isn’t as bad as they make it out to be.
Vote for them if
You want to put a “fuck off we’re full” bumper sticker on your car but don’t want to be labelled a racist.
