As I mentioned in the previous article, after finishing data upload you can customise new scene’s settings. At this point, you decide who is able to access your data, whether it’s possible to export measurements or download points. This is an important step. Properly chosen settings will ensure that your data is used according to its purpose. Let’s see how it’s done, shall we?

A scene page is a place where you manage your whole dataset. Here you edit a title, add a description and tags to your scene. The description can include interesting details about the project and links to other data sources. Remember to select appropriate access mode for your data. There are three options to choose: Public, Invitation only and Anyone with the link. The mode you pick will determine who is able to view your data. More information about access modes will appear soon.

  1. The first thing you can do is to set a thumbnail for uploaded data. I strongly recommend doing it. It will help to distinguish and organise all your scenes. Just press Set default view to create it.

2. Next, choose access mode for the scene. As I mentioned, you can choose between Public, Invitation only and Anyone with the link.

3. In Downloads section, by checking the first box you allow exporting measurements made on the point cloud. Tick the second box, if you wish to enable other users downloading selected points.

4. Below you can set or update coordinate system information of the data. Just type EPSG code in the box and press Update.

5. Go to Advanced Settings to enable/disable mass downloads and annotations.

6. If you want to grant someone admin privileges, type their email addresses here. Invited admins can change the scene sharing settings, invite other users and edit other information of the scene, but they are not allowed to delete data.

7. Lastly, as the scene owner, you can delete the whole scene using Delete Scene button. The function will remove the processed scene permanently.

Now you know everything you need to share point clouds through Pointscene. I hope my instructions were useful. Please let me know if you have any problems with creating the new scene.
