What’s Going On at Medium — and What About The POM?

Hello POMpoets!!
Good morning from my desk! Where I am sitting with coffee, my “meditation music” and essential oils diffuser setting the mood for my workspace, and a poetry manuscript spread out in front of me for editing. This one is from Africa and I always enjoy working on those collections. I find myself thankful each and every day that I have the privilege to write and edit for a living. All day, every day, this is what I do now — and I love it.
But you must know — for writers like myself, things are getting tough on Medium. It’s hard to justify the time spent with the actual pay from MPP. So, this week, I wrote hard and heavy about this — and I don’t want you to panic. At this time I have no plans to leave Medium, but my role here is certainly shifting. I am no less dedicated to my work here — but the time slots I can carve out are slimmer.
I know there’s a lot going on at Medium right now and you might be worried about your future as a writer on the platform. I thought it might be time to give all of our POMpoets a little helpful information about Medium as a platform, overall, without the direct focus on poetry — because after all, many of us hope to make a little money with our work here.

GOOD NEWS: The POM Has No Plans at this Time to Close!
Many people are asking what’s going to happen with The POM since they see other publications they love either going dormant or closing. To clear the air — we are still here, still poet-ing and we have no plans to change that.
However, our fearless editors may need a little patience as we balance Medium work with other writing endeavors.
