A Psalm 96 — A Different Song

A Kyrielle

I sing to You a different song:
A weird and wonderful refrain,
For You are beautiful and strong,
And I persist to bless Your Name.

I sing to You a different song
For You are tender, faithful, kind,
And You affirm that I belong.
No matter what, we are aligned.

I sing to You a different song;
I dance with You on the highway,
Carouse and caper with the throng.
Let all the earth rejoice and play.

I sing to You a different song:
I sing of love, joy without shame,
For You’ll be with me all along;
I’ll bless Your incandescent Name.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
