Psalm 109 — A Rainbow Flag
A Ballad
I am beset on every side
With lying words of hate;
They fight against me without cause
Because I am not straight.
They pay back evil for my love,
Accuse me with all lies,
Return my kindness with malice;
They pray for my demise.
O Lord my God, please hear my cry!
Redeem me for Your Name!
As they reward me, Lord my God,
Repay to them the same.
God, let them curse, but You will bless,
And let them be ashamed,
And they will wear their own disgrace,
A shroud of virtue feigned.
God, I will praise You in the streets
And wave a rainbow flag,
For You will march beside me, Lord,
And we will e’er be glad.
