Psalm 119 ה HE — Give Me Voice

A face blurred against a black background. The mouth is open as if in a scream.

Teach me all Your proverbs, God,
And I shall keep them to the end
Give me understanding, and
I will stand before You awed.

I am silent
Voiceless,
Gagged.
Can You see me?
Can You hear me?
I am lost.

Turn my eyes from empty ends,
Back to truth, away from fraud.
Revive me with Your holy Word.
Remind me that You are my friend.

I long for You
To hear my voice,
And lift me up to walk Your path.
Revive me in Your way;
Give me voice.
I long for You.

Ja, ich sehne mich nach deinen Ordnungen.
Erweise mir deine Treue und gib mir neue Lebenskraft.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
