My eyes are weak; they fail Your Word.
Oh, be my guaranty, O God!
The vain regard Your law as void;
Their worship is nothing but fraud.

God, do not leave me to the sword
Of those who hate. They fail Your Word;
I prize Your writs as purest gold;
Your grace and mercy they have blurred.

I am Your helpmate; teach me love
And show me how to see the truth.
My heart is weak; I’ve failed Your Word,
And I have no worthy excuse.

I spurn the false and haughty way,
For You are love, so I have heard;
Therefore I choose the way of love,
And nevermore will fail Your Word.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
