I am Your breath,
A shadow of Your Light.
Bow down Your heavens, Love, and come to me:
Touch the mountains — make them smoke;
Cast lightning that my foes will flee,
Discarding all their empty words.

Love, what am I?
You see and recognize me,
You welcome and accept me:
My lovingkindness and my fortress,
My high tower, my deliverer.

I sing to You a new song:
My sons are flowers yielding fruit,
My daughters pillars of my house.
Love, let my stores be overfull,
That I may overflow with grace.

You are my Rock
In the midst of foaming waters.
Bow down Your heavens, Love, and come to me:
Touch the mountains — make them smoke;
Cast lightning that my foes will flee,
Discarding all their empty words.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a Canadian queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
