Hong Kong action movie series or franchises are kind of different. They usually don’t follow the sequence where each character remains in part 2 onwards, it is actually an individual story with the same actor but a different character.

Today we will review the 3 White Storm movies about crime fighting against drug lords with Louis Koo acting in all 3 of them. I highly recommend you to watch all 3 without going through in order of sequence.

White Storm 1

White Storm 1 (2013), directed by Benny Chan and starring Louis Koo, Nick Cheung, and Sean Lau, is a well-portrayed movie in the style of the Hong Kong movie industry. The bromance chemistry between the three friends is outstanding.

With limited resources, their life-or-death mission leads to disaster and the loss of life of their Thai counterparts. One of the best scenes is when the three friends are at the edge of a cliff and Lau is forced to choose which of his two friends should live or die. As a grown man, I seriously watched this scene with tears. The reunion of the three friends is even more touching, and their performances are so gripping that you can’t help but be glued to your seat. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)
