“A great artist can make anyone…with the sensitivity of an armadillo.” — Robert A. Heinlein. The world seems to have been tossed into a chaos machine, hardly allowing us to collect our thoughts before the next earth-shattering event takes place. I sought a way to keep things in order, but there are so many people I tried to emulate before realizing they were doing what they are good at and I needed to do the same. I’m good at understanding and writing about pop culture. To help make sense of things and fight in the resistance, I will write essays comparing a “topic of the week” to some great artistic achievement (music, film, television, literature, etc.) with a predetermined theme.
