The Silicon Classroom
Education, technology and equity in a changing world
Note from the editor

The Silicon Classroom is a Stanford Alternative Spring Break trip exploring the question: how might education technology (even when “free”) accentuate socioeconomic, cultural and even gender divides; on the other, how can education technology bridge them? 12 students embark on a 10-week long course in the winter investigating the theoretical foundations for these topics, and a week-long trip around the Bay Area visiting companies, nonprofits, schools and other organizations that address these topics of educational technology and equity from various angles. This blog is a reflection of our journey in 2016.
