3 Young Out Of Contract USL Championship Players Worth Watching

Clubs seeking young talent to develop may be enticed by these new free agents

As Monterey Bay F.C. continues to build out their roster for 2025, a presumably significant source of interest is monitoring which players are not returning to other clubs around the league. Those free agents will be seeking new homes, and with MBFC having emphatically stated that acquiring young talent is a priority, some of these players may be of particular interest. Let’s examine three younger players who were not offered contracts by their 2024 clubs but may be worth a close look by the Crisp and Kelp (and others).

Rafael Jauregui- Forward, Sacramento: The young striker first caught the attention of Sac Republic back in 2017 when he was only 12. The Sacramento native’s ability was impressive enough that he stayed on their radar and signed with the club in 2020 at the age of 15. He has spent the past five seasons with them playing sparingly, appearing in a total of 50 matches that covered 1,317 minutes.
