Just their fellow New Zealanders, Alien Weaponry, Like a Storm is truly one of a kind in the sense that they are the only successful metal band that both has geographical proximity to the didgeridoo and has frequent use of the said instrument, which is native to nearby Australia.
They are kind of a hidden gem really as they are not really labeled as folk metal, nor even folk-inspired. Regardless, the innately somber drone tones of the didgeridoo (native name varies across Australian aboriginal groups) naturally blends well with the darkness and aggression of alt metal (probably true for all metal genres).
I can say that in the realm of folk metal worldwide, the band is a worthy and appropriate representative for Oceania.
