Dear New Stand Members,

We’re in the midst of a movement to leave plastic in our past. From straws to cups, the convenience provided by single use plastic items aren’t worth the impact they have on the environment. While paper coffee cups may be made from recycled paper, they still need a layer of plastic lining. And it’s hard to separate the paper from the plastic. Most of the time, even if you recycle, a paper coffee cup will end up in the trash.

In August, we switched out the paper and plastic we use on the New York City ferries for biodegradable and compostable alternatives. We’re now taking this movement away from single use plastic to the next level by partnering with stojo to offer awesome reusable cups for your morning coffee fix.

If you head to a New Stand on a New York City ferry (or check out the app this week) you can get a stojo x New Stand coffee cup to go green with us. The first 500 limited edition cups are only $5 (the normal retail price is $19.99). The stojo cup collapses down to an easy to carry size while still ensuring that your morning coffee won’t spill or leak — making it the the perfect alternative to a single use cup. Even better, members who refill a reusable coffee at any New Stand location will get their hot drink for only $1.

At New Stand, we always strive to make your day better. And making your day greener should be a part of that.

I hope this note finds you all doing well and getting into the holiday swing with friends and family.

Warm regards,

Andrew Deitchman

CEO, Co-Founder
