Connecting entrepreneurial leaders at the Ecosystem Centers conference.

Creating a Foundation of Change at The Nice Center

Six months ago, my family and I moved to Fargo. We had no ties to the city, not much experience in the community, and nowhere to live.

We came because we could sense possibility. There is a possibility in Fargo that permeates the businesses, the artists, the universities and the people. This place can create what’s next. The next hire at The Nice Center will bring with them this possibility.

That’s what we’re so excited about at The Nice Center. We are working to build an entrepreneurship center that instills empathy. A center that is inclusive and specialized, a champion of rural ND with an international-focus, a standard-bearer in building remote capabilities so students can live in Oakes or Oakland.

We believe entrepreneurship is an essential skill for all students and faculty, and we want to increase the reach of entrepreneurship at NDSU while improving the depth of knowledge and experience Bison have with entrepreneurship. That means we have to break barriers preventing participation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and build bridges to take advantage of the energy and expertise in Fargo-Moorhead and around the world.

In the past six months, we launched 10 initiatives in 10 weeks but we have more work to do. The program manger will bring the ability to keep what we have running and growing. They will also bring their own ideas on how to inspire students and faculty to start, and how to find funding and collaboration so we have an impact much greater than our size.

There is not a specific set of skills we are looking for, but rather a mindset of possibility and change that we seek. (But, if you are a specifics person, I tried to list some on the job posting.)

You are Welcome Here

We believe in The Nice Center and Fargo. If you do too, please apply.

I want to hear what drives you, what your big idea is for the community, what we should be considering, how we level up and how we leave this community better than when we joined it.

There is endless potential in the community and in this position. We need your help to find the perfect person to help us achieve this potential.

Thank you for applying and sharing this opening. We are prepared to bring in the best person from anywhere in the world to make this center, university and community great.
